The Promotional Pause

One of the most common blocks I see when coaching clients on marketing & promotion isn't in their design, or their consistency, or even their message.

It's their confidence.

We can know - logically - that our product or service is beneficial, that it makes a difference, that it works. Our clients and customers tell us, our repeat sales inform us, word of mouth confirms it. And still...when it comes to the next big move of publishing a blog, writing a post, creating a reel...we hesitate. It's seemingly so easy to push the buttons and launch the thing, yet so many get stuck right here, our thoughts remaining in drafts, unread and unheard.

It's not because we don't have anything impactful to say. We do. It's not because we don't have the intelligence, experience, or boldness. That's all there, too...otherwise we wouldn't have been daring enough to stand on this limb of business ownership to begin with. It's not even because the content isn't ready, or perfect enough.

It's deeper than that. Some of us are scared of failure - of putting the thing out there and feeling foolish because it doesn't get traction. Some of us are comfortable with staying small, with building a life that doesn't exceed what we're used to. Some of us think we don't deserve success. Some of us are simply scared of what would happen if lots of people DID partake in our idea/offer. What then?

I think all of that is worth considering and journaling about. It's worthwhile to discover your limiting beliefs so that you can substitute them with new ones.

AND

In the interest of time, things need to get done.

Here's my suggestion: JUST GO.

Make the reel, the post, the blog - get your thoughts in order, put your words on paper, step in front of the camera. Put your blinders up and just do it. Forge ahead until you reach the point of publishing and then click the ever-loving button. Don't let the fear hold you back, because you know what? Once you click "publish", it's evidence...

It's evidence that you CAN. And that you DID. And that you CAN AGAIN. This evidence will then replace the former belief that you couldn't, or that you shouldn't, or whatever else is in that journal of yours.

So take a step this week. Share the thing you've been holding onto. Form a new belief. You're a brave one. And the next post? It'll feel just a little easier.

Much love, Heather
